Just randomly came across what looks like a great site mainly devoted to vintage jetliners but it looks like there's a lot more goodies on the website, especially seaplanes. Definitely a site worth exploring.

The page I first came across was devoted to the vintage seaplanes at the Canadian Selkirk base.

Cool site. I was looking at the article on old planes in Iran and remember back in the 70s the Iranians were buying all kinds of planes, mostly military. I was stationed at McGuire AFB and they ferried many of their newly purchased from there, such as 747s, 707 tankers, C130s, and P3s to Iran. Of course this was before the revolution. There are still about 8 C130s that have been sitting at the Lockheed plant at Dobbins AFB since the revolution (1979?) that were never delivered. Guessing because the US froze Iranian assets. Look at Google Earth on the south side of the main runway and you can still see them there, desert paint scheme.

Cool stuff!

Wish we had a SPB like that around my neck of the woods
