I'm going to swtich gears for this thread from my usual threads involving aviation.

I heard that GTA V is a very good game. Sometimes I watch my friend in his dorm room play that game online, which even makes me want to get that game. You can do anything in that game! You can fly planes, drive cars, even buy expensive apartments!

Anyone here play GTA V?

I'm thinking of getting GTA V (and a Play Station 3) for this winter break. Will GTA V still be a hot video game in December?

Who cares if it's hot or not. If you like it, play it. If you don't, don't. I still have PC games from the 10+ years ago I play.

It is better than flying. Kidding, although I guess the world thinks so. Bye buh productivity, hello carpal tunnel syndrome. And remember hell hath no fury like a girl scorned for video games.

Why not just get a slide hammer and steal cars for real? At least it'll provide an income.Stealing planes is even easier since the locks are garbage, boats normally have the keys in them.

GTA V is pretty great in all honesty. After a little while of having beat the storyline it gets repetitive but its still pretty fun.

Played through it twice. Stole the jet, copters, flew the blimp.

Excellent graphics/physics on an aging console (PS3). The story and the dialog was some of the best I've played in a while. Much of Trevor's dialog had me laughing hard enough I had to pause the game for a moment.

This very much earned it's "Mature" rating. Language alone will make you not wanting younger kids and teens near it.

ZackScottGames is a vlogger who provides some play by play commentary as he plays the games. Here are some links to some outtakes from his GTAV series

LEEEEEEEEEEEROYYYYYYYYY JENKINS!!!!!

There's a reason it's known as World of Warcrack... I'm twice cured of that game... Mostly due to politics of the group, guilds, raids.

I am also a recovering Warcrack addict. Been 3 years now, and counting. :)

Yes and yes......been 2 years here. One of my toons had 100 days played and I'd been playing for 2 years.....every 7th hour of my life I spent on that game. 3 hours a day. too much.

I bought it with huge anticipation and thought it sucked. It is so realistic it's boring. I don't care about changing socks because they got wet. I want to shoot stuff and jack cars. It also had too much profanity for my taste.

I played it. Went immediately to the airport to fly stuff around. Haven't played it since.

Watched a friend of mine play it and use the jet to drop missiles on people in MP who chased me in a heli with chainguns on it on foot. Sweet revenge.

I had a WoW account back when Cataclysm was going but didnt play as much and got from 1-76 or so on one priest and didn't really have any idea about how anything worked. I played Dungeons and Dragons Online for a while and even that was more fun, more detailed, and harder to do (with groups of just 6 that HAVE to work together, leeroy jenkins aside). I played Eve Online for a long, long time (since 2007) on and off up to this year. I've done so much in that game, taught people the ropes, did combat, repaired stuff, etc, that I can't find anything that interests me anymore.

Currently I'm getting my pirate fix with AC4:BF

Somewhere my geek genes are broken. I never got into the "must have new games".

Played a lot of now-classic FPSs like the original Doom, and Unreal Tournament and the funniest one, Hexen... (ecause you could turn opponents into a chicken and then chase the unarmed chicken around and blow it up in a cloud of feathers.)

But petered out after the co-workers and I moved on and we didn't all play together anymore.

Played just enough Halo to understand why this video is so damn funny...

I've considered rearranging my icons on my desktop in homage to that classic.

Never played Warcrack or EverCrack. I decided not to try after I saw a neighbor play it so much he skipped out on work a few times too many.

WRT to the scorned women, the trick is communication fellas. You have to announce a few minutes ahead of time that you're playing GTA V and will ignore her for hours and hours. (Only half kidding)

I have also heard that the graphics and realism of the game are unbelievable. Not really my thing, I think i'll stick with flight sim.

It's a fu. Game, you gotta love Trevor, best game character created.

I learned everything about flying from playing GTA V

Including how to fit a crop duster into the back of a cargo plane.

And I agree the Trevor is one of the best characters in recent game history. The writing and voice acting was tops.
