Friday was graduation day for Sean. He's now officially a "big kid," no longer a kindergartner. Little man was all dressed up, all excited, and very nervous. The graduation play was "The Elves and the Shoemaker," a German folktale. He had the lead part, the shoemaker, with lots of lines. He'd been working and practicing very hard, but was still worried about what to do if he forgot something. He didn't forget a line, the whole class did a marvelous job, and it was really neat to see. When it came time for him to get his "diploma," he gave the teacher a really nice bow, much to her surprise. When we asked him about it, he said he thought graduating was an important thing, and deserved a bow. Poor Cathy was crying, and his teacher was more sad than glad. She really likes him, and has had him in her class for a year and a half since he couldn't be in the pre-K class Cathy teaches. She claims he will rule first grade :)

I do think Sean had expected bigger changes than are going to happen, though. Thursday night, after prayers and good night kisses, he started crying when we told him to get plenty of sleep for graduation. "I'm not ready to move out yet!!!" That took a few minutes of explaining and reassurances LOL. Sigh... that will come next week, it seems, at the pace his time with us seems to be going. Seems like it was just last week, after all, that we brought him home.
