Question about aviation GPS receivers: Can most of them output a track file and if so what format is it in? I'm developing a flight analysis software and so far I've been working mostly with a non aviation Garmin handheld, using G7toWin to pull the track out of the GPS and save it as either an IGC (a format used mainly for glider tracks) or GPX (a generic format most Garmins can handle). Avare, OTOH, writes KML files, and I don't know what Foreflight can do... anybody?

FF can export a kml file. Can send it to GoogleEarth or a file. I did it to do some calculations and had to do some formatting to get it to work but it wasn’t too hard.
