That is a heck of an area to lose GPS. Those guys at Eglin shoot real bullets if you wander into the wrong area.
Required there anyway. https://www.faasafety.gov/gslac/ALC/course_content.aspx?cID=47&sID=280&preview=true https://www.faasafety.gov/gslac/ALC/course_content.aspx?cID=47&sID=281&preview=true
Eglin has a test wing that tests weapons there. Just about every aerial weapon in the Gulf War and ongoing wars now were tested at Eglin. That's the main mission at Eglin. A lot of other stuff goes on there so I'm sure it's needed or they wouldn't be doing it. Price of freedom. Served 4 years there in ATC, cool place, like an airshow every day.
