On Saturday morning, my wife and I welcomed our son Garrett Cameron into the world. He was born at 0953 and was 7 lb 4 oz, with a length of 20 inches. He is perfect in every way, and I can't wait to take him flying!

My first, wife's 3rd. I gave my stepkids their first plane ride the day i asked their mom to marry me

Congrats! Don't forget that if the sound of the vacuum cleaner works to lull him to sleep, so would the purr of an 0-320 or 0-360

Congrats! BTW, I had one of those 21 years ago. He's a pilot today!

Thanks Loren! I think my stepson (8 next week) wants to learn to fly at some point in time

The harmonious roar of two IO-520s does a great job, too. :D

Congratulations! They make excellent co-pilots.

Congrats!! Our first one's due in Jan. I'm already trying to find him a CFI.

Congrats on the new little one. One day you are changing their diapers and the next they are asking for the car, oops I mean plane keys.

I have a one year old grand daughter named Piper. I'm looking forward to when I can take her up in my Piper. :) Since they named her Piper I had to go to the Piper website and order her some 'personalized' clothing items. :D

Ted,

Those photos are ADORABLE! How did he do in the plane as an infant?

if the sound of the vacuum cleaner works to lull him to sleep, your wife needs to vacuum more often!

jk

oh, and congrats!

These are great! Love that second one -you'll have to get a dual frame and put that one next to one of him the day he gets his PPL. :)

Thanks! :)

That first picture was at about 4 months. He did great as an infant, that picture was flying from OH to Newfoundland, 8 hours each way. We used that hearing protection when flying, now he doesn't like wearing any, but sometimes will wear an adult headset.

I would absolutely take your baby flying! :)

Starting with PP-AMEL-IA. :D

So........it basically takes threads about babies for Mrs. 6PC to chime in. Well if it's been quiet around the house, I think Mr. 6PC now knows what he needs to do, mmm hhmmmm. :yikes:

Ha! I chime in on some stuff. Still don't know a ton about planes & flying, so I don't have enough info to chime in on that stuff. Babies I know though! :D

hahaha See, i know planes and flying, and babies are new to me.. Although, I think i've taken to it pretty well.. the wife made a comment that she expected a lot more grumbling out of me with the getting up in the middle of the night

The thing that surprised me the most about parenting was that I liked changing diapers. Dirty diapers mean your child's body is doing what it's supposed to and working properly, which is a wonderful thing.

I completely agree! call me weird, but i looked forward to changing my first one..

It's even more fun if you do cloth diapers. We have lots with airplanes on them. :)

Very nice.. My wife NIXED that idea very quickly.. So we will pollute :\

Unfortunate. Cloth is better for baby and saves enough money to buy a really nice washer/dryer over the course of one baby. It is extra work, but not terribly so in our experience. We'll use disposables when traveling and can't stand using them.

But, it was my wife's idea, so all I had to do was agree with her. :D

The even sadder thing is we're just buying a new washer and dryer

It will still get plenty of use. Kids burn through outfits with spit-up and blow-outs. Ours went out about a month after our son was born & we had to replace it.

And I didn't use cloth. It was enough to deal with disposables.

I am just stoked that he's only waking up once per night.. the second night after he was born, he screamed ALL NIGHT LONG.. it turned out that my wife wasn't making enough milk for the poor little guy.

You'll need it. :)

Yeah, milk production sometimes takes a bit to catch up with demand.

No s**t! I can't say I liked it, but I could handler better than his mom early on! She eventually got the hang of it and I didn't have to bail her out!

Congratulations!

Two friends of my wife and I just had babies. They both wake their kids up every three hours to feed them. My first woke up twice throughout the night for about the first two months, and then would sleep straight through from about 8:30 until 7:00. If someone even suggested waking him up to be fed we would have had words.

Thank you everyone.. I never in my wildest dreams thought i could be enjoying a lack of sleep as much as i am right now
