Sat images have been available for a long time.

This site has images switchable between sat images and the USGS topo maps.

You can't delete the first post in a thread. I've tried to do that too. No big deal to leave it.

I've used TerraServer a lot, but I really like the quality of the Google images. Where I live (out in the boonies) I don't think the Google resolution gets as good as TerraServer. But in a larger (even mid-sized) city the resolution is really quite good. I did notice that Google has lots of images with cloud cover, which has never been a problem with TerraServer. Maybe it will take a while for Google to build a library of high res images for the entire US with no clouds????

Terraserver is very good for USA but I've always wondered if anything at all is available for the rest of the world ?
