Met with the Deb owners. Real nice guys. We seem to be on the same page regarding scheduling, maintenance, reserves, monthly costs. Agreed on a price. Now we have to work out some details. :yesnod:

Now if you can just install a panel like the AOPA Sweeps Deb....

Good luck on setting up a good arrangement!

Thanks Mike! It already has an Stec 60-2 with altitude hold, and we will be installing a Garmin 650 if this goes through.

Any suggestions regarding the buying process? Have an A&P to review all logs and do the pre-buy. Talked to a lawyer for the LLC agreement. They are talking to their insurance agent.

IF you have the panel space, look at the 750 instead of the 650, easier to use, much bigger display, not that much more money. ;)

If you are buying into an existing club I do not know that I would spend the money on a prebuy but I would get a copy of the logs and have a friend go through them tooth and comb before spending money. If you are starting a club with some guys then I would definitively not only do a Prebuy but if the Annual is more than 3,4,5 months old and/or it needs the IFR check, I would consider getting a complete annual/IR check with the prebuy inspection.

One last thing, I would look for a Debonair specialist. If you cannot find one then I would offer Henning a free airline ticket and night in a hotel and some beers to come check it out for you even before getting the prebuy. Really.

Thanks. Unfortunately, the current owners did not feel they needed a GPS, but most likely agreed to get a deal done as my partners and I did not want to purchase a plane without a Garmin.

Thanks Tony. The annual is a month old. An A&P is reviewing the logs pro bono. But, we are going to do the IFR certification when the 650 is installed. Still looking for another partner. We have 2 guys that are thinking about it and will let us know next week.

Tony - Great call .... thanks. Spoke to Henning for 3 hours going through logs. Have concerns with engine. Now it changes things.....I owe him a beer or two when I go down to Ft. Lauderdale next month. Gave me great insight....

Thanks Tony. Its a really nice bird. Just nervous.....fear of the unknown.

I hear ya on that, it is exciting and a bit scary, kind of like that first solo huh?
But congrats.

That's the right way to do it if you wait until you have all the partners it May take forever.

Adam. Thanks. But in reviewing the logs, there is a recurring 5year AD on prop. That is due next month. Wasn't disclosed to us. Henning found it when we were going through logs. Also, in going through logs with Henning, there is a concern about the engine maintenance. Does not look good.

Good job on having the logs reviewed. The prop ad can get expensive.

Tony recommended I contact Henning. Henning and I spent time reviewing logs. He found more stuff today....:yikes::yikes::yikes:

The stuff I found today makes me suspicious of those full pages previously that were covered with stapled in tags. I also maintain my position I'm not a fan of the Machen IO-540 conversion.

I really appreciate your help. Thanks again.
