Good news everyone!

Wish that were the case. They seem to have forgot about the remnant sugars and starches left over from the brewing process. Also alcohol itself cannot be processed by the body for either energy or fat storage.

The article doesn't support the headline. It says beer drinkers ingest more calories than other drinks, hence the propensity to more girth...which is where extra calories tend to show up in guys. It also impedes the normal fat-burning process, so it's kind of a double-whammy.

Reminds me of something a friend posted on Facebook the other day:

Guy at gym: "Hey does that machine help get rid of this (pointing to his belly)?" Me: "Kind of but i think you also have to watch what you eat." Guy: "Man I work out so I can eat and drink whatever I want." Me: "Yea me too. I just want to break even." Guy: (Looking at his gut) "Screw it then." Me: "Right on." I've been surrounded by super buff guys and girls this morning at the gym. And then this dude shows up and brightens my day. Real recognize real.
