The weather deities smiled upon the your friendly neighborhood Steingar this a.m. and allowed the completion of his first ever first go BFR (didn't have to postpone repeatedly for wx). Couldn't get the cold weather plate off the oil cooler with a screwdriver, wound up using tin snips. Oh well, the damn thing didn't do anything anyway. I'll use duct tape next year. About an hour's worth of maneuvers, 45 minutes worth of ground work, and I'm good to go. Forgot how gently the Freebird stalls. Not bad for this being the third flight this winter. Perhaps Spring will be more cooperative.

Yup. They're a lot easier without a few days worth of camping gear and supplies (women's supplies at that!). Like to see your short-field takeoff in that glider.
