This is a TRUE story...sadly happens a lot over the years.
DC8 Seoul to Taipei
Oh the history. Remember when the DC-8 was the only bird in the Asian theatre, and the SEL-TPE crew was asked to fly into the approaching Typhoon? The Capt "you do realize a a typhoon is approaching the Island?" Yeah, but right now the winds are pretty much down the runway at 40 gusting 65, well within the crosswind limits" You can't make this stuff up!
The pressure to go is extreme sometimes....Captain! You do realize your making a career decision? Yep, looking for a job when I got this one.
