After that first bounce, he should’ve aborted.

*easy to say while sitting in a chair*

Three point landings in hot airplanes are tricky business.

I'm not sure what his experience level is, but going around can be tricky in a P-51. I know an instructor who solo'd a guy in a P-51, only to watch him bounce on his first landing, throw in full power and torque roll into the ground. It destroyed the plane and killed the pilot.

This deserves an excited hop-out and a shout of Ta-dah!

After that first bounce, he should’ve aborted.

Or at least instead of trying to force it on the ground, just pull back on the stick enough to hold it in the air then and land it properly.

From what I understand, the P-51 had enough power to roll the plane over into the ground if too much power is added too quickly.

That’s not a ground loop. It’s a DME Arc!

Must have been a short runway. Looked like he could have pulled it off on the bounce, but was in a hurry to get the tail down after he pinned it. If he had just kept it on the mains and gotten it under control first, then let the tail come down when it was ready, he might have avoided the expensive embarrassment.

Was that a p51 or a titan?

Expensive mistake.
If it was a P-51, you don't pour on the coal and go around. The plane will torque roll and go over on it's back.
I think the T-51's and the Thunder Mustangs carry the same warning.
