GNC300xl no satellites?

My GNC300xl has been operating just fine until Friday when I could not get it to acquire any satellites despite turning it in and off multiple times.

Upon landing I tried it again and it had no issue getting reception.

I flew on Saturday with no issue.
On Sunday I made a cross country and it worked fine on my outbound leg on my inbound lake after stopping for lunch it would not get sound like connection.

I tried it again today and after recycling the unit about 10 times it got signal and then once I turned it off and restarted the device it would not require the satellite signal again.

Do you have any thoughts on what could be going on?

Sounds an awful lot like a bad antenna connection. Or a bad antenna itself, being out in the sun (UV) and weather and all that.

Or the unit itself is overheating. If you’re not too far away I could loan you one and you could see if the symptoms are the same or go away.
