Glider Flying Handbook

The 2013 Glider Flying Handbook and one page errata sheet is out. It's bigger and slicker than the old version and includes more information on newer glider types and aviionics.

It has corrected the many typo and grammar mistakes of the old version and corrected one L/D calculation that was wrong.

It's worth a look for the glider pilots.

FAA doesn't do much for gliders.

FAA-H-8083-13A has been available for download from the FAA website for a few weeks now.

I have not had a chance to compare to the previous edition, but I have downloaded it to the iPad and had my students do the same.

I should pick up a paper copy for easier reference at the airport.

Most FAA Safety Inspectors don't know much about gliders.
We invite them for rides, but they never show.
