GI-106B vs MD200-706

Any real difference? It seems like the GI-106B uses 0,90,180,270 but the MD200-706 uses N,E,S,W.

Anything else? My avionics guy suggested the MD200-106 as a replacement for the older GI-106A.

Oh, my, I never noticed that distinction. But, there it is.

I believe that these two units are functionally identical and are in fact the same unit, other than branding and (as you've observed) the OBS markings.
