Any of y'all Texans near that biker gang shootout? Funny thing is, last week I was at my local Twin Peaks.....on bike night.....watching the Rangers hockey game, wearing MY colors (my rangers jersey). I thought, if anyone's gonna get shot, it's certainly me.

I didn't get shot though.

Hope there isn't another thread on this. My sheer laziness prevented me from searching for it.

Sounds like things got out of control pretty quickly.

9 dead! Yikes!

All bikers, no civilians. That is some good shooting! :nono:

I was getting gas a block or two away from the scene in Waco as one of the mobs of bikes was arriving. We took a back road to get back to the 35 or we'd have been right in front of the place in the seconds before the crap hit the fan. I'm glad I missed it. Crazy stuff.

Ya, that was crazy! If there were any regular patron dumb enough to still be in there I hope they sue that Twin Peaks owner into oblivion. He was warned several times about the bikers gangs coming in there.

It was biker day. :dunno:

....and, isn't that kind of the police's job? I'm not understanding the "hey, we got some violent bikers coming in from out of town, let's let the restaurant handle them" theory.

I'd rather be with the bikers than a Ranger fan.

Easiest way to fix gun battles is have the cops clear the area.... Let them kill each other, call the Fire Dept to hose off the bloodstains and move on with life.....

This goes for battling bikers, gangs, drug dealers, thugs, etc etc....

It's true, Ranger fans would be much easier to shoot when they're parading around with the Stanley Cup.

Didn't say I wanted them shot, just that I think bikers are a better class of people that Rangessss fans. :D

I read that the owner did have police on the premises and that the police did engage in gunfire. Not seeing a lawsuit in this, but I don't see a lawsuit in most things that others do, I don't have to place blame on somebody for everything though.

I agree. But many states, mine included, have gone to finding duties on whomever has deep pockets. Any time a patron is hurt, they courts have to find a scape goat. So now any time there is any history of crime on the premises, there is a jury question as to whether the property owner/proprietor breached their duty to exercise reasonable care to protect invitees on the premises. It always makes me think of the Godfather movies where the mob is extorting money from local businesses, and the courts then find a duty to protect the mobsters when they are the target of a hit from a rival crime family because there has been crime on their property.

We have one of those Twin Peaks breastarurants here in town. I wonder if they have "biker night"?

In the interview with the police chief that I saw, he said that they had urged the restaurant not to have the bikers there as there had been several issues, he said the manager would not cancel the event. Officers were nearby and staged in case something happened but were not at/in the restaurant.

Most Hooters and Twin Peaks that I know of do have weekly bike nights.

You can bet there was more than one state police "sharp shooters" in the area that probably took out most of the shooters. The police ain't dumb.

And you can also bet that ISIS is reading about how many Americans carry.

The democrats will soon chime in on what colors will soon be banned.....:rolleyes2:

^^That

Big difference in a 'bike night' and a restaurant full of patched OMC members (OMC = Outlaw Motorcycle Club). Both the Bandidos and the Cossacks are known OMC.

An AP report in my paper quoted police sergeant Swanton as saying "apparently, the manager of Twin Peaks wanted them here and so we didn't have any say so on whether they could be here or not"

The police had info that three different gangs where coming. Restuanant owner didn't seemed to be concerned. The owner might want to rethink his decision.

..and I'll bet money what kicked it all off was a little piece of snatch.

Bikers+booze+drugs+women = knock-down-drag-out

or it could have been a high wing/low wing debate gone awry.

nah, it was probably snatch.

It reportedly was a show down. Both gangs knew the others would be there and went prepared to fight. The cops knew it too, and then blamed the establishment for "allowing it to happen".

There are rumors that undercover cops had a role in starting it in order to get the desired outcome. That may be tinfoil hat material, but nothing would surprise me from government, especially the DEA, and BATF who certaintly had a clandestine prescence there.

Something isn't adding up.

The MCs schedule a quarterly meeting in public, with the police visibly present next door, and the police claim multiple clubs got into it without police egging them on or assisting the fight in starting? And once the rumble started half the kills were from police guns???

And they are hanging the restaurant owner out to dry for not telling multiple OMCs and their 1% ers to eff off?

Doesn't pass the sniff test.

Yeah,
It certainly couldn't be the fault of those nice innocent little motorcycle riders now could it?

Most of the riders are just riders, Many would not be classed as choir boys; but to say that a group who has survived since the 60s with at least a semiclean public face is going to throw down in public, after advertising the location, and with SWAT idling next door?

Don't buy it.

I bet those evil police officers planted all those illegal weapons on those innocent motorcycle aficionados too.........

WTF??? Since when do the BANDIDOS have a 'semi clean public face'??? Theyre a freakin OUTLAW MOTORCYCLE CLUB for cripes sake!

In Daytona Beach, we have two annual events that draw hundreds of thousands of "Riders' that truly do have clean records. Many of them are Doctors, Lawyers and professionals of all types. They come into town, stay at nice places, pay their bills, tip nicely and go home.

These were not the guys in Waco.

Bad bikers. Govts never throw false flag parties to push an agenda. Never. New gun bill, more spying on innocents, and more money for the popo in 3, 2, 1...

They've survived as a group since the 60s, therefore they've demonstrated that they know not to anger the community too much.

I'm not saying they are good people, or even law abiding- I'm saying they're smart enough to know a public shootout would be counterproductive.

Where did you get from my post that I am allowing the biker gangs off the hook? No, they are responsible, but the police, possibly undercover police may have had a hand in escalating it.

For the record, I am NOT a fan of outlaw biker gangs who are just disgusting criminals on two wheels.

I have friends with Harleys. One of my best friends is in charge of the Alaska Harley Council and organizes group rides and events. Those guys conduct themselves very differently than the mob of bikers I crossed paths with in Waco on Sunday.
