the American aviation system remains vulnerable to attack

Yeah, they should senselessly throw a bunch of money our way, we are at risk from terrorism. We can best decide how to spend it.

Wow, why doesn't anyone see that aviation isn't soft like it used to be. The soft spots are trains, with nearly no security.

But trains can only go where the tracks are, and the people in the government offices aren't near the tracks. Out of sight ...

Part of it is envy and lack of control. "What do you mean, some 'rich' people don't have to go through a body cavity search when they fly. Why we may not be able to humiliate them like we do with everybody else. No one in this country is above the law..."

And so it goes.

Union Station, Washington, D.C. They'd better wise up.

On the ABC news tonight Bill Platt (I think) said that the 9/11 terrorists originally
planned to use a small plane.

Do you think anybody knows that if they had the folks inside might have looked for a moment wondering what that noise was?

There were a bunch of "We were able to get right through this fence!" "We drove right up to airplanes!" and an airport manager saying there is no security. Thanks, guy.

Did you know that on a G4 there's no separation between the passengers and the cockpit? For that matter there's none in my plane, either.

The bad news is the head of the TSA who swore he knew better is pushing this hysteria. We're in trouble. The airlines don't want the competition. With the TSA thinking the job is not done until nobody wants to fly, the airlines want to help kill off alternatives.

To put the threats into REAL perspective, on September 11, 2001, over 30,000 people in this world died from Hunger, Diarrhoea and the Measels.

Over 9000 of those were children. :(

No terrorists required.

Hey folks

We need to get the word out. Every pilot should be writing to the editorial board of their local paper explaining what generally aviation has done about security. Also explain the basic physics that makes small planes almost no threat. Point out the fact that a full size SUV can carry a heck of a lot more explosive power then any small plane. I work for a newspaper and this is the kind of letter a editorial page editor loves to get. Be original, don't copy paste from the web.
