This question is really about my wife not me, but here goes..
I'm chasing a PPL myself and my wife and I discussed it and thought it might be a good idea for her to get a PPL after I finish so that she can be my backup on cross country trips in case I'm tired or god forbid something happens to me and she has to land the plane.
I hadn't even thought about until doing my own research to get my own medical but she was diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder a few years back. They gave her some meds(I don't remember what now) for some panic attacks but she didn't like her doctor and didn't like the next one either and didn't get the prescription renewed. She's been off them for a while now and doesn't seem to have any trouble... except(not trying to be sexist but..) typical female stuff. "I gained 2lbs and now I'm fat and ugly" or "People are work were mean..." and getting really upset over it... that kind of thing.
Other than that she had lasic surgery done a few years ago. Used to have really bad eyesight but now doesn't use glasses. I'm guessing this probably isn't a big deal as long as she can meet vision requirements which she should be able to. No other health problems.
But with the GED diagnosis how hard of a road is going to be to get a medical... or is she pretty much grounded before she starts? I really don't want to get her hopes up only to find out it isn't even possible
