The Jayhawk Wing of the CAF is having our annual Salute to Valor on March 6 this year. The event is held at the Airport Hilton in Wichita and includes Dinner, a Silent Auction, and a featured speaker. This year the speaker is General Richard B. Myers, former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. If you haven't heard of him here is his bio from the attached flyer. Quite an accomplished military career, including quite a bit of flight time.

General Myers also served as Vice Chairman and Assistant to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and has held command positions at every level, including Commander of U.S. Space Command, North American Aerospace Defense Command, Pacific Air Forces, U.S. Forces Japan, and two fighter wings. A fighter pilot with over 4,100 hours, General Myers logged more than 600 combat hours during the Vietnam conflict.
Tickets for the event are $50, and must be purchased by March 1. Tables of 10 can be reserved for $500. This is our wings chief fundraiser for the year and with such a high profile speaker we are really hoping to fill the room! I hope that some PoA'ers can make it.

The location is really convenient for flying in. Since the hotel is on the airport you can park at the FBO and literally walk over to the Dinner.

Oh and if you are interested (and within reasonable travel distance of Wichita), feel free to print off the flyer and hang it up at your local airport or wherever. We, of course, would prefer that any copies out there are printed in color, if possible.

Leah and I have a table worth of tickets that we need to sell. If anyone is interested contact me. If we sell out this table we'll get another one!

Would love to make this, but the Collings Foundation B-24 (& -25 & -51) is making a stopover here that weekend and I've already committed to helping with the ground support activities.

We've got 3 tickets left, hoping to turn them in tomorrow. Anyone interested???
