GDL 82 compatibility and use?

[bluesideup]

Hi.
Does GDL 82 work, and can it be used, in any type of xpndr., specifically with the Becker 4400 series? Garmin does not have that info. that I could find.
I would think that some factory approval, for an SLSA in this case, would be required?
Thanks.

Some kind of LOA is always required when installing stuff on SLSAs. It depends on the manufacturer but generally it is either an authorization for a specific installation or a blanket authorization in the form of some kind of MEL, for instance like this one...http://sting.aero/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/Master-Equipment-List-310115MEL-7-Aug-17.pdf
