I would like to put a remote antenna on my airplane for my GDL 39 I am looking for Info on the type of antenna and location ?

There's two antennas, one is gps the other is ADSB. Both can be sourced from Garmin. and suction cupped to a window.

If its up on the dash you probably don't need the external GPS antennae. Ideally the 1090/978 ADSB antennae would be down on the belly of the plane. We transitioned from a GDL39 up on the dash to a GTX345. I sure don't notice any difference in GPS but I do see better pickup for the ADSB in (wx, traffic) and direct XPDR squits from other 1090/978. If you are adding external antennae you might also want to put it on ships power. We did that and loved it.
