Gastons has indicated they now would like a better head count for dinner tonight (Sat) than the looser estimate which we previously discussed with them.

So we will have to work out something more definite by tomorrow, let me know by pm, or email, or in person, or by phone - cabin 4, with number attending dinner at their restaurant (7pm Sat)

Thanks.
Dave

Please send your real names when notifying me, it is going to be hard for me to sort folks out using monikers, thks

Noon, I have to get the total in.
Any further respondents should call the restaurant

Having seen this after the fact, I was going to suggest that "zero" might be a better answer for next year. ;)

This may be the funniest thread of the whole weekend. Not Dave's fault, he was just trying to help things go smoothly, but the question of why they wanted a headcount is a great straight line.

Were they trying to claim a Guinness record for most ****ed-off people in a restaurant at the same time?

Yep, no matter how hard you try..... ;) I'm just glad I'm not doing it anymore.

Dave, thanks so much for taking care of the restaurant reservations. :)

they asked, so I provided.
honestly it was a courtesy....and was supposed to help ensure adequate staff and guarantee a certain room (which we did NOT get, after all)
We could have all just shown up whenever we wanted - they know how many cabins are full and can estimate themselves the restaurant use.
On one hand, we waited 2 hours for awful food, the managerial response was lacking (blaming the poor waitress, cmon) - but it is no fun running a restaurant, my guess is they would love to lose it!

They should outsource it. For a percentage of gross.

I think the problem is staffing: small rural area - hard to get and keep quality staff. Similar prob where I live. Friends run hotel and adj restaurant. They did lease a place out for a few years and it was a disaster. I feel for them, but we need a solution too.
