Suppose Garmin receives a GPS for repair. About how long might one expect the repair to take?

It depends on what is wrong, they are having parts shortages like everyone else. Usually garmin will not repair to the component level but that may have changed. I would give them a call, if it is aviation hardware, they are pretty responsive, consumer grade stuff, no so much.

7-10 days. Just had a 430W redone. I was told between 7 and 10 days and they shipped it out on the 7th day. Doesn't matter what's wrong with it, they replace the same things no matter what. If those things don't fix it, Garmin can't fix it. There are no board level repairs.

I should add that you don't deal with Garmin. You deal with one of Garmin's approved dealers. You give them your CC number, and you can ship it to the dealer who will then ship it to Garmin, or ship it to Garmin directly. You will get an email when it is released for shipping back to you. Your CC will then be charged.
