Garmin Pilot (Android)

I have the basic VFR version of Garmin Pilot running on an LG Gpad. I really like the app but for the life of me I can't figure out how to get it to display roads and geo features on the VFR map. They don't even display on the road map. I know I have to update to a more expensive version to get obstacles but I didn't think it was necessary just for roads. Any of you GP gurus know what I'm missing?

What kind of roads are you looking for? The sectional view shows major roads, just like any sectional or TAC. The Garmin proprietary vfr view will not.

That's what I was wondering. The Garmin 430 and 296 I use at work each have nice depictions of roads and geographical features. I was hoping GP would as well but I guess not. Thanx for your response.
