Garmin MAP Update Cost?

I have a chance to buy a Garmin 295 pretty cheap. What is the initial cost and the ongoing cost to keep the maps updated?

Whatever the current price on the Garmin Database website. Last time I looked, it was $45 per issue. If you want current DB and obstructions, that's $45 each. How many times a year do you want to update? Check the Garmin website for individual and annual subscriptions.

You can usually get discounted updates at AirVenture, too. I generally don't bother updating the database more than annually, since it's not certified for IFR.
