Garmin got me lost and cannot get me to my destination

Handheld GPS phooey! Loran baby!

I was ferrying an old 172 at night between layers, when the Loran display went dark.

I used ADF to navigate that night, with a lot of help from ATC. The NDB approach into, IIRC, Corpus Christi went down to 200AGL, but the approach was all over water. I was happy to see the airport that night, very happy.

The plane was going to the radio shop to get the VOR radios working again.

Turn off the NEXRAD on the map page. Incomplete ADS-B data leaves empty boxes like that.

For some reason I have been seeing this a lot lately. I am beginning to wonder if there is something wrong with my Stratus 1. It was receiving several towers, and I tried rebooting it and my iPad. Ipad mini2

This was a bad time to lose ADS-B NEXRAD, as you can see I was flying through a hurricane.

Side note, I really haven't been flying all that long, but I think glass cockpits are about as cool as a kick in the nuts....

LOL. Data networks and the systems behind them are what I do for s living. The design of "NexGen" drives me insane. It's a total POS.

I was being complementary about your knowledge of that. Impressive.
