I have a Garmin GMA35c in the Seneca. I have an android phone (Samsung Galaxy S22). I can get my phone to pair with the Bluetooth on the GMA but after pairing it won't stay connected. My CFI's iPhone connects fine. Apparently an Android issue. I've tried forgetting the device and repairing it but no luck. Any ideas of what else to try? I don't have issues with Bluetooth on any other devices with my phone.

Do you have other Bluetooth devices in the cockpit that your phone might be switching the connection to, like an iPad or BT headset? I have an S22 as well and vaguely remember a similar problem. I ended up unpairing my phone from all my devices in the cockpit and then pairing it to the audio panel (PS Engineering for me) first.

I do not. My iPad is connected to the FS510 but I've never connected my phone to the iPad. My headset does not have BT. If it did I would just Bluetooth to there instead of the audio panel.

Yes, an iPhone! :p :p :p

Sorry, I’m feeling rather saucy this morning….

I do have a 350c and it connects to my iPhone automatically and stays connected. I actually have not used the connection as I have not played music in this plane and I make phone calls through a BT headset.

Try wiping/forgetting all the BT connections in the 350C then re-pair with your phone. Garmin doesn't play well with multiple BT connections.

Any other Android phones available to test for sustained connection? I don't think the GMA35 has updatable software; my search did not suggest so...however, if it does, perhaps it may need an update?

The avionics shop just updated every piece of Garmin in the plane. They also renamed the Bluetooth and checked all the connections and said it's fine.

Use an older version of Bluetooth on your phone. Look for Bluetooth configuration and select an older version for Bluetooth, see if that helps...

Follow-up to this. I upgraded phones and the problem went away. So I guess it was a phone problem.
