Does the Garmin Flight Stream (the small data card sized device that connects GTN's with iPads) something that the aircraft owner can install? Or should the help of a qualified avionics tech be sought out?

Is any logbook entry required?

It changes the required on board Docs and the firmware updates and stuff are only available to a Garmin reseller. Definitely not self-install.

You can only buy the experimental one.... go to a dealer, pay him money to shove a SD card in the slot. The configurations are easy, but still needs a dealer to install and give you a log book sticker
