What are the thoughts on investing in Garmin? They appear to be at another cyclic high, when looking back over a couple of years.

Disclaimer: I do not currently hold any GRMN stock.

Long term, I like it as an investment. Over the last two years it has held up fairly well in the $40-60 range. The company seems to have a good strategy and has a very good market share as well as name recognition. I do like the zero debt. However, the stock market in general still gives me the shivers, I haven't really seen a good solid reason for a long steady rise.

Disclaimer: The above is an opinion, your results may vary. I do hold Garmin stock. :)

Perhaps it is a good buy, but are you planning on buying at the peak?

Just had to revive this thread, since the above question is pertinent to my 20/20 hindsight method of investing... had I bought at the then high of $56 when the above was posted, I would be nearly $10/share ahead today ... but did I? :dunno: of course not! So is today's high just another rung on the ride up or are we near the top?
