My club plane is in the shop, annual, fuel bladder leak, paint job. I've flown like 1.6 in the last 4 weeks. And it's going to be down another 2 or 3 weeks.

Anybody want to be my friend...if you have a plane of course! :)

And of course the whole 'Honey, maybe we should buy our own plane' act at home isn't workong at all!

Bring her to Gaston's again, and 6Y9. We will continue to try and brainwa-, er, convince her.

Eh, by the time I found another club, my plane will be back up. I like this club and our planes (I can't fly the Bo yet) I'm just impatient

Can't help you out without knowing where you are? Besides, my new plane got bit by Mother Nature. It is in the hospital for the forseable future.

But next time... if you have another club you're a member of, then next time this particular club is down (and it will happen again) you have another option.

Not enough to PIC time for the insurance for the Bo.

I'm in N Dallas area

Maybe try the "honey look what I bought for us" approach?
Since she occasionally packs his chute that might not be the wisest move he's ever made! o_O

Come live up North it is nothing to go a month without being able to fly sometime two. :(

I wanted to fly last week plane was in for annual now the owner is out of town. The worst part is here when you have those really nice days and still can't fly.

I am sure glad I don't have to ask my wife if I can buy stuff. I buy planes, motorcycles, boats, jet ski's and never ask. It works very well having separate checking accounts. She does what she wants with her money and I do what I want with mine. In 15 years of marriage we never once argued about money :-)
She never knows what I will show up at the house with.....

I dont *ask* her if I can buy stuff, but we do pool our money and work from a joint account so we discuss major purchases. If I buy a new rifle without discussing it, its one thing. If I buy an AIRPLANE without discussing, it a whole nother ball game. Props (figuratively and literally!) to you that your arrangement works for you and your wife!

We have a simple financial arrangement: What's mine is hers and what's hers is hers. It has worked out for 37 years. During that time I've managed to buy three vehicles to restore and a plane. All she got was a house full of clothes and shoes.

Your profile does not indicate your location. But come on down (or up ... or laterally) to CTX and we'll go fly. I got over 2 hours just this past weekend. Not enough if you ask me but at least a fix to hold me over a few more days. :)

Clearly CTX is not an airport designator for you, cuz ForeFlight shows it 4300nm northeast. Central TX? Where at?

right there with ya.... Withdrawal symptoms are a bee-atch.

But when we do get the Skylane back, it will be one nice ride with everything we have done to repair and upgrade.

why can't you fly the bo?
Insurance requires 200hrs PIC time. This can be reduced a bit if the pilot completes the BPPP.

I just need to complete the transition training and get my complex endorsement.

@JCranford , when 55WB returns, let's set up a routine to safety pilot for one another. Get you some PIC time from the right seat and IFR practice for me. Then switch seats and let you practice attitude flying skills. Split the costs as appropriate.

Lou is in the Austin area

My bad. Yes, CTX is the term for Central TX. Or as us locals call it "Nuevo Kalyfornya". (and no, CTX is not an airport ID, it does not start with a K)
So come on down and we'll go flying. We are always looking for an excuse.
