The city council meets tonight to hear public comment on extending RWY 14-32 (one of the two runways at Craig Municipal in Jacksonville) from 4,000 to 6,000 feet. Keep your fingers crossed for us!
The usual busybodies have campaigned against this for years, and given the senseless hostility toward aircraft homebuilders, extending the runway is a very tough sell. There's been tons of residential growth around the airport, but this runway is minimally impacted by the growth.
