Today I had to update a setting on my 330ES for ADS-B IN parameters (so that my ADS-B out told the ground stations about my IN capability).
After doing so, when I powered everything up, my G5 AI stayed dark and the G5 HSI reverted to AI mode. The power button on the top G5 did nothing, nor did the knob/button. I called my installer and he said they have seen this a few times. The solution is to power down everything (master off)., Then , turn the master back on while holding down the power button on the G5 AI.
It came back up just fine.
Good to know a fix, but he didn't know why it happens.
