Funnel Cloud Up Close

When I was soaring I too would look for crud to be under that normally I wouldn't like to be under. And like @brcase I think it's hard to tell what the rest of that cloud / cell looks like from the video.

Buuuuut... In general when things start doing spinny things, the forces involved have a tendency to be high enough to do Very Bad Things(TM) to aircraft.

I don't think I'd be under that. Not sure if I'd even be comfortable with Brian's dust devil honestly. But the grass all over the glider is fun. Ha.
 
We used to fly thru dust devils in Iraq. Bounce thru it with dirt flying into the cabin. You had to chose carefully though or you’d get rocked pretty good. Not the smartest thing and when our commander found out what we’d been doing he shut that down ASAP.
