Was doing my flight training with my CFII next to me, doing some practice ILS approaches into KTOL. Starting to get the feel for them. One of the things Toledo Express has is a 180th wing of the National Guard. Evidentally they were doing their practice drills as well. So when we got cleared for the "option" they requested max forward speed (in our little Warrior that means 120kts) Evidentally a couple of F-16's had to wait for us to go missed and then they came shooting through as well. Glad they weren't there to intercept us :) My CFII got to see them for a split second off the right wing. :)

Thought I'd share.

I've always wanted to key the mic and 'request an intercept' for a free airshow. Never mustered up the courage to do it though.

Had a T-38 cross left to right and then curve around behind me out west of Sheppard on one of my trips to Houston. That thing was so fast that ATC couldn't really keep up. He was below me when ATC told him to climb to avoid me. ATC thought he was same altitude as me because his equipment was a few seconds behind the maneuvering target. The T-38 is also pretty small so it's a difficult target to see.

It's also fun to watch them pop up out of an overcast. They just suddenly show up and then scurry off in some direction to do their air work or shoot practice approaches.

ATC said there was some action in the MOA I was transiting. Some A10s down low. Shouldn't be a problem. Later I get a call, "N123, traffic at 3 o'clock, ahh, 9 o'clock. Never mind."

Fortunately most of the military traffic has on board radar and can see you. You just hope they are not to busy to notice where you are.
