Hi fellow pilots. I have contradictory information in my PA-28T-201 POH . I try to find out, what is the correct information.

7.15 Fuel System: Usable capacity to the bottom of the indicator tab is 25 gallons.

8.21 Fuel System: There is approximately 25 gallons in the fuel tank when fuel level is even with the bottom of the filler neck indicator.

So - are now 25 gallons USABLE fuel in the trank, or 25 gallons of fuel in total where I have to substact the rough 2.5gals unusable?

Thanks and Greetings
Bernd

50 doesn't sound right on an arrow iv

Not FULL, thats 77 gals with 72 gals usable - I am in need of the capacity if filled to the „tabs“ only.

It says tabs are 50 gal usable, so it's usable. No need to subtract unusable.

7.15 and 8.21 are saying the same thing in different words. There is a "tab" in the filler opening. Para 8.21 is calling it a "filler neck indicator". The "tab" will show the 25 gallons in the tank. Filling "to the tab" is 25 gallons, filling above the tab to the filler neck opening is full fuel at 38.5 gallons, per tank.

Most club or aircraft owned by partners will only refuel, to the tabs. Not knowing what the passenger/baggage requirement will be for the next flight. Filling to full tanks with two 200# people in the front seats will exceed Max GW allowances and forward CG.

I think we both align that the unusable part of the fuel is on the bottom of the tank.

My problem with the phrasing is not calling it tab or filler neck - my problem is stating one time 25 gal usable and the other time 25 gal IN the tank.
As there is always 2,5gals UNUSABLE in the tank - not both statements can be true.

But - I think and got confirmed from several other Arrow4 Owners that 25gal USABLE is correct.

Fill to the tabs. Then fill to the top and compare how much fuel was put in.... easy.
