Hey guys,

You all helped launch the IceBox air conditioner last summer. It did extremely well and its part of our line up with the winter "SwitchBox" and more airplane tech products coming out.

We sold about 200x IceBox last year in two months and now its placed in catalogs for Aircraft Spruce, MyPilotStore, Mcfarlane, Sarasota Avionics, etc. Thanks for helping develop the product and kickstart it.

1) Off-Season Discount 20% discounted = If you'd like to get an IceBox for the summer send us a PM or message. We'll take 20% off all the items (IceBox, Battery, Gel packs, Pilot Cable, etc.) Starting soon it will go back to full price and might increase depending on new parts/supplier arrangement, but 20% off for now until it ends.

2) Bluetooth Thermostat with Free App === We developed a really really great accessory! I made the IceBox power cable removable so that you can adopt new accessories and add-ons we create. We made the IceBox fully bluetooth now with a huge feature --- automatic thermostat. We've stretched the cooling time to HUGE values, data coming soon, but its truly remarkable. The IceBox is now fully controlled by a micro-controller and you dont have to do anything. As you climb through the altitude levels it will regulate the output and save your 'fuel mix', and lasts a really really long time now. Interface provided FREE with included Iphone/Ipad/etc app. More details soon, but Im going to run an intro-price on this for $99.

Keep the fan running to push cooler air through the cabin ** 2x more cooling than the Arctic Air device! (See below)

Phillip... remind me what the recommended mix of water, gel packs, cube ice and block ice is.

We did use our Icebox a few times last summer, and it did an okay job, but not exactly what was advertised. But I think we had our "fuel mixture" wrong. Too much of one item and not enough of what was really needed.

Recommended mixture found on the Beech Talk site was:

Starting from bottom of cooler
- 1g water (cold already)
- 20lb crushed ice (hard and really cold -- biggest factor here)
- 3-5x gel packs
- Then the green insulation lid
- Then another 5-10lb of crushed ice (hard and dry, not drippy)

Don't recall seeing a green insulation lid.... Was this part of the kit you sold post AirVenture?

Yeah its just a piece of foam we shipped with the IceBox, from Lowes insulation foam
p

Its empty weight is 10lbs
Then add ice/water.. So between 20-50lbs depending on how much cooling time youd like

We've about reached capacity on these discounted pre-orders now. Will need to close the list of SALE orders soon.

If you'd like to get in, send us a PM or email.

Have you ever tried using Block ice (1/2 Gal. Milk jugs with Water in Freezer) instead of Crushed ice? Would it last longer?

Recommended mixture found on the Beech Talk site was:

- 1g water (cold already)
- 20lb crushed ice (hard and really cold -- biggest factor here)
- 3-5x gel packs

We did a lot of testing and found that blocks certainly last longer.. but the cold air coming out... is not as cold

a little cube has a lot of surface area for the water to touch and that makes the exhaust air much colder

We also found that the milk jugs , plastic, insulates pretty well and doesnt get the water as cold as just a solid block of ice thrown in there

I got custom gel packs made that give a good trade off between renewable source of 'fuel' and cooling duration and temp
