Switchbox 4G is here with new features and a 30-40% increase in reception strength vs previous 2G model for $349. Original model still for sale - $299.

Battery Backup -- With a small rechargeable battery pack inside, the Switchbox 4G will now send you a message when power is lost or regained. Very useful for a 100% guarantee that your Switchbox 4G is working correctly all year long. Accessory and info found below.

AT&T has advised of plans to drop 2G support in 2017, if you are on the original 2G model you can always switch to T-Mobile when that happens. If you must use AT&T sim cards, then the new 4G model will work for you.

We have a current trade-in program for older 2G model Switchbox units. Trade-in cost is $200 plus shipping, to send in your old Switchbox circuit board and receive a new 4G circuit board. Currently there is a waiting list of upgrade customers.

4G units are currently sold-out with a 3-4 weeks waiting list.

After ordering, you can request a FREE Switchbox 2G loaner if you'd like to get going immediately with the Switchbox.

When your 4G unit arrives, you simply swap the SIM cards and ship your old unit back... with zero down-time.
 
Production is going well but the amount of orders this year and upgrades are a record of our company.

We are finishing up all current upgrade orders and shipping free 2G loaners for any new customers, so there is no down-time while you wait.

Definitely suggest emailing us or getting put on the list if you are interested, Waiting List is growing this week.
 
Any plans for a 240 volt model? Down here on the coast, most A/C units -- including ours at the hangar -- are 240. It would be great to be able to precool!

Update --- Great news on production/supply for 4G. New batch of chips working perfectly and next week we'll be finishing up the new orders and upgrades. We are shipping now.

The long backlog should get eliminated quickly now. Just in time for the cold weather!

Any new upgrade orders are looking at 2-3 weeks wait time currently.

We should be getting a big banch #2 of our 4G chips next week, and then just 5-10 days waiting

If the demand spikes then we will adjust the times and let everyone know.

Any pilots wanting to stick with the older 2G switchbox, Tmobile says 2G cellular coverage has been confirmed through 2020 in the US!

Thats great news for anyone in good 2G cellphone coverage, you can stick with T-mobile for another 3-4 years at this point.

If you want to use the battery backup feature, AT&T network or want better reception in general, then you will need the new 4G unit.

For all 4G users with Battery Backup

- we will be updating the app soon, so you can get a nice visual and feedback when the unit is operating properly (normal power supply 120V) or battery backup

As long as you are on the White List (any of the first 8 slots), currently your notifications will look like this attached below. The Switchbox will send you a message immediately when your unit is removed from power (GFCI trip, power outage, anything like that, etc)

All existing AT&T users should be transitioning to a 4G Switchbox or switching to T-mobile.

The AT&T company said on Jan 1, 2017 they are shutting down their 2G network.
 
Only a few units left for shipping this week (Wednesday), and then sold out again.

We're having a much higher demand this year for the 4G units and we'll build another batch of 50-100x for shipping next week. Let us know if you'd like any more info or placed in this week's delivery.

Looks like the holiday orders and first snow of the season and etc are gonna make us sell out again.

The current wait time for upgrading to 4G is 2-3 weeks again. We'll do our best to get it down shorter again, just lot of demand.

One more batch going out before Xmas next week. About 1/2 sold at the moment, but we have some more units left if you'd like to try one on the next shipment.
 
Some pilots in Central Texas just got the Switchbox for their planes and one extra box for something Ive never heard of
- boar trapping!

They needed a custom 12V Switchbox model (easy for us to do) and bare leads for all the connections. Power is supplied via 12V car battery and outlets 1 and 2 turn on:
- camera
- door popper

So they can do it from home. Never heard of this, but ill post pictures of their setup soon.
