This morning, Fox News reported a small aircraft crast in Tulsa, with 5 fatalities...

quoted from Fox-
"A small plane crashed in a park in Tulsa Saturday morning, killing five people, Capt. Chris West of the Oklahoma Highway Patrol told FOX News.
The plane went down in Chandler Park at about 10:40 a.m., according to NewsOn6.com. Two men and three women were pronounced dead at the scene.
There were unconfirmed reports that the aircraft crashed into a baseball field.
The plane appears to have hit a cable before it went down, NewsOn6 reported. Witnesses reported hearing a loud popping noise before the crash.
The aircraft broke apart into several pieces and burst into flames upon impact, according to NewsOn6. Two of the victims ejected and the other three stayed inside the plane.
There was no word on what may have caused the accident or on the identity of the victims."

Reportedly was headed to Dallas.

Piper product? If it left Jones Riverside (KRVS) as reported, and crashed in Tulsa, they didn't get far.

It was this PA32: http://flightaware.com/live/flight/N1228H

One news story says:

Investigators with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said the plane hit a communication tower and crashed in the back of the park near West 21st Street and South 65th West Avenue. OHP officials said the plane had just taken off from Jones Riverside airport and was headed to Dallas for the OU game.

RVS is at 638' MSL, traffic pattern altitude is 1713' ; FlightAware track shows they never got above 1500', airspeed was good though.

Yeah, I think that's a bug in their system; it actually shows them as "arrived" at DAL, too.

Pretty low weather this morning, there:

Victims named; two doctors and the family of one of them :(

Sounds like they hit a guy wire on a tower; the chart shows one at 1435' at the north bend in the river; the crashed on the south side of the river, just to the west of that, after departing RVS northbound.

The Veteto family, who just lost Dad in the accident, is no stranger to tragic accidents. I remembered seeing their son's name, Cody, in the news before.
