ForeFlight Screen Lock

I know there is a lock button on the plates display. I am looking for similar function on the maps display.

My fat fingers sometime hit one of the "buttons" on the bottom of the map screen switching or even closing the screen when I pick up the iPad from the seat, my knee, from the pax, whatever.

I use the moving map for pilotage and pick it up for a closer look or reroute or to look at the flight log. It is annoying to have switch back from a different screen because I touched one of the buttons. I hope there is a simple way to eliminate my fat finger fumble result while still allowing pinching, etc on the map.

Whatever simple solution exists escapes me.

Double click the home button, scroll over and press on "lock screen."

Also you can set the default in the settings to use the mute button as a lock screen button as well.

I have tried that but not what I need.

It stops the screen from rotating but doesn't lock out the ForeFlight buttons on the bottom of the map view. That is what I am trying to lock.

This isn't much of a help but, email ForeFlight and let them know that's a feature you'd like to see. All they'll tell you is that they'll take it under consideration. They get a lot of suggestions.

Did that and they said no can do what I want in the current version but will add it to "to do" list.

I have both the ForeFlight and Garmin Pilot versions on my iPad (decided to buy both and alternate to see which one I wanted to stay with). The Garmin Pilot has the lock feature you are looking for in the menu on the screen you are looking at. As you found out there is nothing like this on the ForeFlight. I will say that the ForeFlight guys do move on recommendations. The recent routing feature was a nice add for IFR flights. Hopefully they will add your recommendation as well. For I too have fat fingers!

Yeah. If they have enough requests for a certain feature, they'll add it to a future version. I've asked for a few things and got the same response.
