For those with MoGas STCs...

Do allot of people run MoGas in there palnes?
Are there any problems or risks in doing so?
Once you have the mogas STC can you still run 100LL?
Do the airports frown on you showing up with 5gal cans in your truck to fill your plane rather than buying from them?
I have never seen anyone use it myself but back when I was current Avgas was ONLY 3 bucks.

I use auto gas.
Some aircraft fuel systems have a problem if you use E-10. Big problems. As in fuel lines swelling shut and engines shutting down at inconvenient times. But, in my case, I have SAE spec fuel lines and will run E-10 before I will run leaded fuel (which is not good for my expensive gear box).
Yes, if you have the STC you can run either. Or, in my case, I run what I feel like without an STC.
At ONZ you can't fill in the hangar and the can has to be grounded to the aircraft. Some airports offer auto fuel, but they are few and far between.

Yes, but not as many as before, the availability is a problem.

yes, auto fuel has it own set of problems caused by the removal of TEL and the addition of Benzene and toluene as a replacement, and now the addition of alcohol that has less BTUs per pound than regular fuel.

Yes, it is recommended that you run a mix, to raise the OCT and lower the vapor pressure to prevent vapor locking the fuel system at higher altitudes.

That's an individual airport management decision.

That's a while back.

Yes.
Yes.
Yes.
Depends on the airport.
Haven't flown in a while? ;)

Closed-ended questions are fun! :)

Seriously though... It's just gas. It doesn't keep as well as 100LL which is stabilized more so don't let it sit around. Put it in and go fly.

Finding MoGas at most fields is difficult so yes, you mix them.

There's some risk of vapor lock in some systems and those usually aren't approved for MoGas anyway.

Airports typically don't care but don't spill. They're far more worried about a spill cleanup or you burning down a row of hangars than whether they made their money on the fuel sale.

Ours has a "no storage" of fuel policy which is hilarious considering every aircraft is doing just that. Inside the wings. ;)

Yes it has been quite a while! I Have/Had ~350ish hours and was about 20hr into my instrument. When a higher authority informed me that diapers were a higher priority than foggel time. :nono:
It's been 10-12 years and I really miss the long gone Geaux Flying Club of Baton Rouge. Things have changed so much I feel like a new private student again. My 12 y/o son the one that clipped my wings years ago is all about-all things airplanes. He says at 16 he want's to solo and get his driving permit the same day. Now to try and convence the higher authority we need a plane for our son's education. :nono:But, But, But! It's for the childern:mad2:

It's a buyers market for airplanes right now.

A solid old Cessna 152 will run cheaper than many new cars.

They're small but at your altitude they're actually usable. ;)

If the kid really wants to fly, dad could too...
