How is it in Europe for flying GA? Can you build a plane, fly it around like here? Specifically wondering about Spain.

Spain is in the european union and thus under EASA Ruling.

Experimental aircraft here is possible (but you will need time as there are several steps you need to involve the responsible *AA or similar).

There are some threads in the EuroGA Forum (i.e. https://www.euroga.org/forums/non-certified/7235-experimental-homebuilt-in-spain). Also, I found this article from the spanish aeroclub: https://aeroclub.es/2016/03/situacion-de-los-ulm-en-espana/ (in spanish... so I'm not 100% sure about every detail)

Normally in europe you have a club that does the supervision of the builds. Normally they are mandated by the *AA (in Switzerland it's the EAS, https://www.experimental.ch/)

So... if you will move there you shouldn't have a problem. Especially since I expect you do speak spanish if you're moving there...
