Personally speaking, flying kids is about the most fun you can have in a small single. I've been flying them since I got my license, most though Young Eagles events but I have also taken a few friends kids. Depending on the organizers, the kids get a 20-30 minute flight, a certificate, and may even get a picture or two. In my case, I give every NEW passenger a trinket as a commemorative of the flight. It has been AOPA wings, Wright Brothers/100 Year wings, and now it's 100 years of Naval aviation.
As long as you are an EAA national member, you can fly them on your own. Go out and have some fun.
