Vgs whistle at the edge of the envelope, mostly on the Cessna, not so much on the Nanchang unless I do a very high angle of attack slow landing.

 
Cool, did not know that.

Unrelated- how much power do you have on in some of those short landings? Some seem pretty much power-off. Only in a few do I hear you pulling power on touch down. I am usually at 12-13” mp on my short field work.
 
90% are power on, specially the gravel bars, between 12 to 15MP.
Short strips power on until prior to touch down, usually steeper approaches, gravel bars many times touch down with power on.
