Someone was thinking!

This gives a whole new meaning to self launch?

I rather like the bungee cord launch. Less work.

I would be afraid, with my luck, the release wouldn't work and I'd bounce around until I broke.

I know that specific cartoon.
No good can come from launching things with rubber bands.

We had another thread with this thing.

There's a video of some guy doing aerobatics for a crowd with one of these and he folded the wing at the bottom of a loop.

He fell a long way. I didn't investigate if he survived or not.

Expensive too.

Love the idea. Can buy a whole real airplane for the price tag. Definitely a niche. A neat niche.
