used to give a bunch of recent tracks, now I can only see the latest...unless I am missing some button? Or another website that does?

I never saw the ability to show multiple tracks, but I can still show multiple flights (text only).

Do you subscribe?
Or, what button do you push? I had 3 today and can only find the latest.

About three or four months ago someone posted a file for displaying Flight Aware's display as your desktop. Anyone still have it?

I get flights all the way back to Sept. 2005 without signing on. Were you IFR on all three?

I think that was on the red board.

However, I have it on my desktop at work and at home. Since I am at work now (LOL! working hard as you can see) I will post this one. It is for full screen coverage of a 1280x 1024 resolution desktop.

For WindowsXP, open the text document I've attached below. On the line:

<img src="http://map3.flightaware.com/airport_map.rvt?ident=PANC;key=2bdea312eb6c2429bbd 3344c4883b8e944f9e189;height=1024;width=1280">

change the four letter airport identifier (it is Anchorage Int'l above) to whichever one you want, then save the file on your computer somewhere as a *.htm file (as you can probably see you can also fiddle with the window size on that line too.) Go to your desktop settings, click on the "browse" button, find the .htm version of the file, select it and...voila!

You can also change the refresh rate by modifying the:

<META HTTP-EQUIV="Refresh" CONTENT="60">

line by changing the "60" - that being the number of seconds between screen refreshes.

I also have one that shows four different windows in a table on your desktop, but it is on my computer at home.

BTW this was someone else's brilliant idea that I have copied and modified.

I've seen it described like this:

From Control Panel/Display, you can set any URL as an "active desktop". I use http://flightaware.com/live/airport/KADS to show the airport activity for Addison live on the desktop. It updates whenever the FlightAware airport activity page updates. It even has a scroll bar. If you have a lot of desktop icons, you can scroll the 'active desktop' up or down to make everything visible.

I used to have it displayed that way, but I found that it did not in fact refresh as often as flightaware's information did. If you write a basic web page using the URL instead as I have done, you can manage your own refresh rate. Set it as low as five seconds and if you have broadband it will be almost "real time" (yes, yes, I know there is probably a security delay from Flightaware but you know what I mean.)

You can also customize the display more. Here is my desktop at home with multiple FA windows embedded in a HTML file.

Yes, it is -11F. Predictions of spring - it turns out - have been greatly exaggerated.
