First, let me apologize for not getting this posted sooner. Most of you know, I just got back in town and was in training again all day yesterday; so, I've been pretty backed up.

Bill Signs who is in the next hanger to me at Addison and Alice Flood left in N90MB to head up to the Magnetic North Pole last week. Some of the guys at the airport have been tracking him on Flightaware.com. Bill flies a C-210 that has been modified to hold more fuel. He holds several Guinness and NAA records; has flown to 73 countries and can fly the plane in a manner that can provide a max. range of 4600 miles.

It's been interesting to track his progress and hear him talk about planning the flight.

Best,

Dave

I took a look at his data on flightaware and all I could tell is that he's way up north. The last track displays as if he started in the Carribean but the text data says different. Of course there's probably not much in the way of radar way up north.

The last I spoke with Bill, and it was before he left, the plan was to magnetic north after some stops, then down to Bermuda direct, then back. I can only speculate that the Bermuda leg is to set some over water record in a single (but I'm just guessing). Or, why in the world would you route that-a-way?

Best,

Dave
