My entire experience with a flight school left me wishing I had never gone to them for training. I have posted my reasons more than a few times, no point doing it all again. Suffice to say, should someone ask me how to go about learning to fly, my first response would to be avoid flight schools like the plague.

The best way to learn to fly is join a small flying club, one that is not in the airplane rental business. Find your own instructor, preferably an older person who is not trying to get a job with the airlines or anything else. Stay away from flight schools.
