Flight Schools in Los Angeles

A good friend of mine came up with me the other day and I got him hooked. He lives in L.A. and wants to start flying asap. Does anyone know of a good school in the L.A. area? He lives nearest to Burbank but he's willing to travel.

Van Nuys Airport.

Lots of flight schools there, probably his best bet if he lives in Burbank.

If he's okay with driving then he might look into "Angel City Flyers" down at Long Beach. I live in Burbank and they are my school of choice. They are writing all the Diamond Flight school curriculum.

I know a guy over at www.theaviationforum.org who did his PPL at VNY. I'm not sure what part of LA he lives in, but if you pop over there and ask Vlad about it, he'll be glad to give you the scoop.

There's real value to learning out of an airport that's nearby. Long Beach is about an hour from Burbank on a good day, that'd put quite a crimp in your progress. If he was close to Santa Monica, I'd recommend Skyward Aviation in a heartbeat.
