Pre-takeoff checklist
Departing a breakfast this morning with a couple of other a/c's from an untowered airport, while still on the ground on ctaf, I heard "Rv" - "up", two planes verifying they were on frequency. After departure and after I'd moved to approach frequency, I heard the same fellows "Rv" - "up" on the approach frequency, not addressing an approach controller but verifying they were both up on frequency. I hadn't really thought much about it before but is that how most flights of more than one verify they're up on frequency?
