Flight into the hurricane (almost)

This afternoon I flew from Atlanta area to Florance, SC (KFLO). Right to the edge of Ophilia. Interesting view on the NEXRAD. Picture was taken about 5 miles from landing. Winds were strong, gusty and (of course ) a cross wind with a bit of shear. However, it was a visual approach. Got out of there within an hour.

Still learning about the MX20. That's FIS with echo tops and winds aloft?

Very impressive.

That's correct. The shades of grey are the elevations of echo tops. The winds aloft barbs are at 9,000', which was my cruise altitude for the flight. and of course the NEXRAD is also up. I really love having this box.
